For Our Mothers

Every Mother Deserves Dignity

Dignity, not charity—for Vrindavan’s widowed mothers

They are called “widows of Vrindavan,” but to us they are simply Maa—mothers who gave their best years to their families and now live quietly in ashrams with almost no comfort, often wearing the same tired saree day after day.

Bhakti Raas cannot change their whole past—but we can honour their present. For Our Mothers is our small, steady promise to gift soft, dignified cotton sarees to these mothers every month, with respect, devotion, and no drama—just quiet seva.

Choose how you’d like to support:

  • Shop Bhakti Raas sarees → SHOP

  • Sponsor a saree for ₹499 → SPONSOR

In simple words: We gift new cotton sarees to elderly widowed mothers living in Vrindavan ashrams—every month, not just on festivals—so they can have comfort and dignity in their daily lives.
Your support, whether by shopping or sponsoring, helps us keep this seva consistent and respectful—not a one‑time photo moment.

Our commitment

We’re not chasing big numbers or viral photos. We’re committing to quiet, consistent seva.

  • Year 1: Gift at least 5 soft cotton sarees every month

  • As Bhakti Raas grows: Gradually increase this number—not in a rush, but without stopping

  • Always: New cotton only, offered to Krishna first, given with folded hands and respect

No random drives. No festival‑only charity. Just month‑after‑month care for mothers who are usually forgotten.

How sponsorship works

1. You sponsor a saree (₹499)
You choose to honour one mother with a simple, dignified cotton saree.

2. We arrange the right saree
We select a soft, breathable cotton that is easy to drape and comfortable for ashram life.

3. Offered at Krishna’s feet
Before giving, each saree is offered at our altar with flowers, incense, and prayers for the mothers who will wear it.

4. Handed over through our partner
Our Vrindavan partner ashram distributes the sarees personally to the mothers, with care and respect—not as handouts, but as gifts.

Our partner: Radha Seva

OUR PARTNER: RADHA SEVA

Radha Seva
Radha Kunda, Vrindavan
USA 501(c)(3) Nonprofit · Padma Charitable Trust (India)

Radha Seva runs one of the most comprehensive widow‑care programs we have seen—offering personal stipends, private housing, free medical care, daily meals, and meaningful seva opportunities. They treat each mother as an individual with unique needs and dignity, not as a generic “beneficiary. What moved us most is their commitment to personal empowerment and respect. Widows are not just housed—they are honored. Each mother receives thoughtful, individualized support that recognizes her as a person, not a charity case. Their base in sacred Radha Kunda adds a deep spiritual dimension to their service.

We feel grateful that Bhakti Raas can play even a small supporting role in the seva Radha Seva is already doing in Vrindavan.

What makes Bhakti Raas different?

Most brands donate a vague percentage “someday” to generic causes, with little clarity on what really happens.

At Bhakti Raas, we do things differently:

  • Fixed saree commitment from Month 1—not “after we’re profitable”

  • Direct ashram relationships in Vrindavan, not anonymous third parties

  • Sarees are first offered to Krishna, then gifted—spiritual and financial integrity together

  • Simple, affordable sponsorship (₹499) so generosity is accessible

  • Clear partner (Radha Seva) you can actually know and follow

For us, For Our Mothers isn’t a side campaign. It’s built into why Bhakti Raas exists.

Impact

  • 50 mothers reached with care and respect.

  • 155 essentials gifted by Bhakti Raas — including 30 sarees, 25 blankets, 25 socks, 10 caps, and 50 slippers.

  • 15 sponsored gifts made possible by supporters.

  • 1 trusted ashram partner helping us serve consistently in Vrindavan.

Every contribution becomes something tangible a mother can wear, use, and receive with dignity.

Why sarees matter

For these mothers, a new cotton saree is not “just clothing.”

  • It is warmth in winter and comfort in summer.

  • It is dignity when they sit in satsang, go for darshan, or simply walk inside the ashram.

  • It is a gentle reminder that someone, somewhere, still thinks of them.

Your ₹499 doesn’t disappear into a vague fund—it becomes a tangible, wearable sign of care.

Your two simple next steps

If this touched your heart, you can support in two very direct ways:

  1. Bring home a Bhakti Raas saree
Every order helps us keep this initiative going and growing.
